Riccardo De Luca
Riccardo De Luca was born in 1971 in Rome, where he lives and works. He studied at the State Institute for Cinematography and Television "Roberto Rossellini" of Rome where he learnt techniques of shooting and dark room.
After his studies of sociology at Rome's La Sapienza University he began to collaborate with newspaper and magazines in 1994 submitting them black and white stamps, that he produced himself, on the main events of italian life, such as political happenings, news, sports, entertainment, and on social themes such as immigration.
In 2000 CGIL italian trade union assigned him a report for an exhibition about life of immigrants living in Veneto North-East Italy.
He works with digital cameras since 2002 and despite of his experience of dark room he asserts that digital revolution did not pervert the nature of photographers work, but in fact it gave them new creative possibilities.
