Peter Menzel is known for his international photographic coverage of the sciences, world cultures, and the environment. His photos have been published in the world’s best magazines and have garnered many awards. He is the creator and principal photographer for the book Material World: A Global Family Portrait, and is co-author with his wife Faith D’Aluisio of the books Women in the Material World; Robo Sapiens: Evolution of a New Species; and the award-winning Man Eating Bugs: The Art and Science of Eating Insects. Their most recent book, Hungry Planet: What the World Eats, received the 2006 award for best book of the year from the James Beard Foundation and the Harry Chapin Media Award. They are working on two new books: Nutrition 101 (101 people documented with a day’s worth of food); and The End (death rituals around the world). Menzel’s most-wished-for assignment would be to periodically document the prison life of ex-president George W. Bush.
