Katharine's love of photography stems from her father, a photographer himself, and her grandfather, once an amateur photographer in the US Navy and a professional photographer for stage theater. Hailing from San Jose California, Katharine Decker earned her first photographic awards at the Santa Clara County Fair while attending Notre Dame High School. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Photography at St. John's University in New York, in conjunction with the International Center of Photography in Manhattan where she earned a Certificate of Completion for the 1-year intensive study program. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Science degree in Photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara.
Kati is an avid athlete, enjoying snow skiing, SCUBA, Travel, Backpacking, Fencing (4 years NCAA Division 1 Varsity Team), Cycling, off roading, and many others.
She is available for freelance assignments, locally, nationwide and abroad and is comfortable in all formats in both digital and film.
