(b. 1957) Based in Paris / France. Before to be a photojournalist, I used to be a pharmacist…Nobody's perfect… One of my firsts job as a travelling biologist was to teach microbiology in an Eritrean campaign hospital. From there I brought back a photographic story about this forgotten war. Since then, and to make it short, I never returned to pharmacy…As a professional photo reporter, I was caught in almost all the traps possible, bad people, true-false stories, disappointing publications, wrong commercial choices…I guess I will get more of the kind, but as a priceless compensation, I discovered incredible places, lived unforgettable situations, met everlasting friends and above all I do what I love : tell stories with my camera. I claim to keep photographing, since I naively do believe that making people know about other people is a step to better understanding and peace. BOOKS "Le Photographe", 3 volumes comic book with drawings from Emmanuel Guibert beside my pictures, designed by Frederic Lemercier, telling the story of my first 1986 trip in war torn Afghanistan. Spanish, italian, swedish, portugese translations available. English translation in (slow) progress... This series of books received numerous prices, and exhibitions about it happened in Angoulême Festival and Comic book Museum, Bastia festival etc... "Voyages en Afghanistan, le pays des citrons doux et des oranges amères" Editions Ouest France, texts and photos about my 1986 to 2002 seven trips to Afghanistan. Only in french.
