DIGITAL RAILROAD NAMES MARK IPPOLITO VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETPLACE IMAGE SALES
NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2007 - Digital Railroad, a leading provider of Web-based application services for the professional photography industry, today announced the appointment of Mark Ippolito to Vice President, Marketplace Image Sales. A long-time photo-industry executive, Ippolito brings extensive background in business development, global sales and marketing to Digital Railroad’s aggregated photo Marketplace.

Ippolito’s photo-industry career spans more than 20 years, over which time he created new businesses, launched digital-imaging products, and oversaw international sales offices. He established key accounts with top-tier ad agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey and J Walter Thompson; and developed strategic partnerships with major imaging and technology companies--Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Adobe, amazon.com and Apple among them.
In senior positions at Corbis Corporation, Getty Images, PhotoDisc and Comstock, Ippolito was among the first wave of sales executives to embrace emerging desktop-publishing technologies and expand their applications to a digitally driven market.
Ippolito was also Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at OnRequest Images Inc., and CEO and President of Matchlight Software Inc., the world’s first digital-based realistic image compositing system. Most recently he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Zango Inc., an online media company providing free entertainment content and utilities to more than 20 million opt-in consumers.
