Using the Digital Railroad Export Plug-in for Aperture:
1 - Re-launch Aperture.
2 - Select the images within Aperture that you want to upload to your Digital Railroad account.
3 - From Aperture's File menu, select "Export", then "Digital Railroad". This launches the Digital Railroad Export Plug-in for Aperture.
4 - If this is your first time using the exporter, you will be prompted to enter your DRR member name, your FTP name (which is usually the same as your member name) and your DRR password. Click "OK" once you are done. The exporter will remember your information the next time you launch it. If you ever want to change the member name, FTP name or password, you can do so by clicking on the "Account" button in the exporter.

5 - Choose the name of the DRR group to which you want to upload your photos. You may optionally create a new group by clicking on the "New" button and entering the name of your new group.

6 - Select a file format (JPEG or TIFF) and a filename convention. If you choose one of the Custom Name options, you can enter your custom name in the "Custom Name" text field.
7 -
Click "Export" to start exporting your images. Once the image transfer has begun, you may continue working in Aperture. If you choose to export more images from Aperture while an upload is already in progress, the new images will be added to the upload queue.

8 – After the upload completes, the export plug-in will add a custom metadata field called “Digital Railroad Status” to each uploaded image so that you can keep track of which files you have uploaded to Digital Railroad.
Note: The Digital Railroad Export Plug-in for Aperture checks for updates once a week. If a new version is available, the export plug-in will prompt the user to install it. No personally identifying information is transmitted as part of this process.
