Will Austin’s photography is broad in spectrum and influence. His images echo his own life experiences: fine art, the outdoors, travel and carpentry. As a photographer he seeks to capture the beauty and timelessness found in everyday moments.
A transplant to the Seattle area from Colorado at age three, Will took his first photography class in junior high and won his first photo contest as a sophomore in high school. He graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Human Services, also studying industrial design, metalsmithing and architecture. In 1992 Will picked up a camera to document his artwork and found himself drawn back to his original artistic path.
Will’s photographic journeys have taken him to Mexico, India, Europe, Canada and across the Western United States. His current focus is editorial work and shooting portfolios for contractors and architects.
Among Will’s favorite pastimes are going on adventures with his wife and five year-old son, and uncovering family lore about his cattle ranching, train-robbing ancestors. He lives in South Seattle with his family.
