Jack Reznicki is one of the best-known and most respected people photographers in the country.
Born in Israel, the son of concentration camp survivors, Jack moved to the United States when he was five years old and grew up mostly in Rochester, NY.
A 1976 graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, he opened his New York City studio in 1980. His creative problem solving has helped promote products and services for many companies, such as Tylenol, The Wall Street Journal, Hyatt, Toys “R” Us, Kodak, Reader’s Digest, Crest, AT&T and Playtex.
He is the author of several books including “Studio and Commercial Photography- A Kodak Pro Workshop” book, published by Silver Pixel Press, which is chock full of “insider” information about the advertising photography business.
Jack’s insights into professional photography can be found every month in Petersen’s Photographic magazine with his popular “Pro Vision” column. His insightful articles also appear in PEI (Photo Electronic Imaging) and Professional Photographer magazine.
A popular lecturer and teacher, Jack’s intelligence and wit are evident in the numerous lectures and workshops that he gives to professional groups and colleges around the country. In his talks, Jack shows how creative thinking helps solve his clients’ visual needs. Jack's lectures and workshops are well known for his open, direct style of communication, not to mention for his sense of humor.
As a 100% Digital capture photographer, he also presents a very popular program called “Going Digital in Plain English.” Believing that photographers should be pro-active in the photo community, he has been very busy in that community. Jack is currently a Board Member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA). In the past, he has served as President of the New York chapter of Advertising Photographers of America (APA), sat on the Joint Ethics Committee in New York, and served as Board Member of ASMP/NY.
Along with many other awards, Jack was very proud to receive the 1999 IPC (International Photographic Council) Leadership medal for “Excellence in Studio Photography” at the United Nations.
Jack is honored to be both one of the original 55 “Canon Explorers of Light” and one of the original “Epson Stylus Pros.” Jack also does consulting with Mamiya, Microsoft, and Creo-Scitex as a Beta tester on its Leaf C-Most and Valeo digital camera backs.
He also founded and runs the Photo News Network (PNN) on the Internet. PNN is home to the very popular photo forums, PhotoPro, PhotoTech, PhotoDigital, and PhotoWed.
