Natural history and travel photographer Frank Balthis has an extensive file of over 200,000 photos. In his use of photography as a means of communicating about our fragile planet, he focuses on diverse subjects including wildlife, landscapes, culture, history, environmental problems and solutions. He has a BA and MA from UCSB and experience as a park ranger, planner, college instructor and publisher. He understands the needs of photo editors and publishers, and is available for assignments. Specialties include California geography, marine mammals and environmental issues.
